Centrovía Project – Zaragoza
Bringing clean energy to Zaragoza

The Loja Energy Project boasts a 1.12 MWp solar capacity, completed within a 10-month timeframe. The installation was carefully designed to adapt to the region’s climatic and topographical conditions, ensuring efficient and stable operation.
The solar plant meets the region’s growing energy demands by providing a renewable energy solution that respects the surrounding environment. This system strengthens access to clean energy in Loja, delivering lasting value to the local community.

The region relied primarily on hydroelectric power, but limitations in generation capacity and frequent power outages disrupted both households and small businesses.
In many rural areas, reliance on diesel generators increased costs and caused significant environmental impacts. The absence of adequate infrastructure and renewable energy policies prevented the region from achieving stable and sustainable development.
Located in southern Ecuador, Loja is celebrated for its cultural heritage, historical significance, and natural beauty. The local economy has traditionally relied on agriculture and trade, with notable production of coffee, sugarcane, and fruits.
In recent decades, the city has experienced significant growth in tourism activity, driven by its proximity to protected natural areas like the Podocarpus National Park. This tourism boom has led to a higher demand for services and a steadily increasing energy consumption.
