With the aim of combating electrical exclusion in the most disadvantaged areas of the planet, the Spanish companies Solartia and IED - experts in energy and electronics, respectively - decided to pool their knowledge and experience. From this alliance, ARCA was born, a robust and low-maintenance autonomous solar generator that aims to alleviate the energy poverty suffered by 800 million people worldwide.
Important industry personalities and journalists will be able to learn about and test all of ARCA's functionalities at the meeting to be held at the W Hotel in Bogota, organized by its developers, on October 28 and 29.
Specifically, ARCA is a stand-alone solar generator that integrates solar panels, power electronics, energy storage and prepayment in a compact, robust and simple way, making it capable of permanently supplying energy anywhere in the world. The solution is also designed to be installed at any site without qualified personnel.
ARCA's encapsulated electronics ensure maximum durability and protection against moisture and adverse weather agents, while the integrated communication platform also facilitates energy prepayment and data transmission. "ARCA is not only a generator with storage, but also an information system, as it is designed to communicate with the end user and track human behavior, aspects that we consider key in these non-interconnected areas," says Iñigo Ayerra, CEO of IED.
For both companies, Colombia is the ideal country for ARCA to take full advantage of its capabilities, as it is an environment where non-interconnected areas are located in a complex orography. "We are convinced that it will provide a boost in terms of improving access to energy for these people, who will undoubtedly see an improvement in their quality of life. In addition, we believe that ARCA will contribute to reducing poverty, preserving the environment and even promoting gender equality", says Emilio Mendivil.
This company has been developing innovative renewable energy projects to improve people's quality of life for more than 20 years. It considers that accessibility to the resource is essential to boost social, economic and environmental development. The company has also pioneered isolated solutions for industrial, commercial and regional applications in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
Founded in 1999, Solartia specializes in solar energy, energy storage, smart microgrids and energy access. With a presence in a wide variety of markets worldwide, Solartia offers technical solutions of the highest quality and cost-effectiveness for the public and private sectors.
IED was born in the early 90's in the town of Aizoáin (Navarra) with the aim of providing the industry with electronic products customized to the particular needs of each segment. Focused on the design, production and assembly of electronic equipment, as well as its marketing and after-sales, IED currently offers solutions for most of the industrial sectors: renewable energies, elevation, construction, electric mobility, etc.
IED, which develops both its own products and customized solutions for industrial clients, currently has a staff of 78 technical professionals, located in one of its three sites: Pamplona (Spain), Shenzhen (China) and Chennai (India).
